Motorsport season winds up at Teretonga Park

This weekend will see the final action of the 2021/2022 motorsport season at Teretonga Park in Invercargill.

Motor racing presented by Downer takes centrestage on Saturday 9 April with a club meeting while Sunday sees the Evolution Motorsport ClubSport Triathlon at the track.

Saturday’s racing will feature Noel McIntyre Drainage Club Saloons and Sports and Racing Cars with the action commencing at 11am with testing, qualifying and eleven races planned for the day.

On Sunday the Evolution Motorsport ClubSport Triathlon takes place at Teretonga. The event will consist of a single car Standing ¼ mile and a grass motorkhana in the morning and in the afternoon an Autocross event. A helmet is required for the Standing ¼ mile although the club can provide one if necessary. This is a non-championship event and very suitable for beginners, including anyone 12 years of age and over. Competitors receive three goes at each event.

The morning’s activities cost $30 while the Autocross entry fee is $45. The Evolution Motorsport Nissan Sentra is available for use for a $20 fee.

Sign in is from 8.30am and the action commences at 9.30am.

Entry for spectators is free on both days. Vaccine passports are no longer required but if you are feeling unwell, or are exhibiting any symptoms such as a cough, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, please stay home.
